The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Bay Section Leadership Conference was held on March 4, 2006 at Westmoor High School. The conference involved many different competitions, such as Accounting, Business Communication, Public Speaking, and Word Processing. There were also two informative workshops conducted by business professionals from the local business community: All Put Together: Tips for Dressing for Success, and Maximizing Million Dollar Moments. After eating lunch, FBLA members had the chance to enjoy the entertainment session, performed by Westmoor’s Polynesian Club. The entertainment was followed by the closing session and awards ceremony. During the awards ceremony, the top ten winners of all events were called on stage and given plaques for their high scores. The top five winners of most events advanced to the 2006 State Leadership Conference competitions, and eighteen of Westmoor’s members qualified. Many other members placed in the top ten spots. Out of eleven chapters from the Bay Area, Westmoor FBLA placed third in competitions.

The 2006 Bay Section Leadership Conference was a great success, and Westmoor enjoyed hosting the event. Now that the local conference is over, over thirty of Westmoor FBLA’s members will attend the 2006 State Leadership Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine. The conference will take place from April 27-30, 2006. This year, the chapter hopes to finish top ten in the state.

The following Westmoor FBLA members placed in the top 10 for the competitions held at the Bay Section Conference. The top 5 in each category qualify for the State Conference competitions in late April.

Oh my gosh, Nathan, did I give you names with the article? Now I don't remember! (spaces out.) I'm sorry Reynaldo Rance Gonzales Junior; it is probably my fault. Blame me, Whitney Anne Chua Esguerra.
