Castro Valley Invitational

Last Saturday on October 13, 2007, Westmoor’s Cross Country team went to the Castro Valley Invitational. The freshmen boys’ team came in 4th place; the medal winners were Steven Mandac and Kevin Penado. Steven Mandac did an amazing job running the 6th fastest time for the freshmen boys’ records, with the time of 12:29. The f/s boys came in 10th place with Taylor Rivas being a medal winner at 25th place with the time of 13:28. The f/s – JV girls came in 4th place winning a team medal. The top 7 runners were Yami Jimenez, Yin Theint, Angelica Villahermosa, Johnny Hickman, Michelle Lee, Tiffany Zhong, and Elizabeth Kong. The individual medal winners were Yami Jimenez with the time of 15:51 at 15th place and Yin Theint with the time of 16:07 at 23rd place. The varsity girls came in 9th place. The varsity girls’ runners were Angela Tse at 39th place, Ronda Yip at 52nd place, Monique Hernandez at 61st place, Eizelle Barrientos at 99th place, and Erin Leong at 108th place. The JV boys came in 6th place with Samier Said getting 8th place as individual medalist with the time of 13:20. Varsity boys came in 18th place and David Urista got an individual medal coming in at 29th place with the time of 17:45. The Westmoor Rams did an outstanding job at the invitational and will be returning next year.
